Home compost bin offer:

Dorset residents are renowned for being excellent recyclers but more and more are also home composting.

Last year around 6,000 Dorset residents took advantage of greatly reduced compost bins thanks to a partnership of the Dorset councils with national organisation WRAP (the Waste & Resources Action Programme) who are helping to subsidise the deal.

To help more people make the most of their kitchen, household and garden waste, the compost bins are once again on offer at a bargain price.

The 2007 offer has been extended to the end of March with bins on offer priced at £8 and £10 (a saving of around £20 to £30 per bin on manufacturers suggested retail prices).

And if you buy a bin, you can also pick up a kitchen caddy for just £2.

The great thing about choosing to compost at home is that it requires relatively little effort, and is suitable for everyone – whether you are a seasoned gardener or a novice, have a large garden or a small urban space, you can still get involved.
